Data sources & licences
BlockLot is compiled from 103 public sources (108
datasets). Each is listed below with its publisher, dataset, licence, the date we
last retrieved it, what we changed, and where in BlockLot it is used.
Public data portals keep no numbered versions of a dataset, so
the retrieved date is what identifies the version we hold. Dates are New York
dates. A date marked * is the day our last complete read of
that source finished.
Everything BlockLot shows is compiled from the public records listed on this page and is provided as is, without warranty of any kind.
Records may be outdated, incomplete, or matched to the wrong property. A record that names a business at an address is not a statement that the business currently occupies any premises.
Before relying on a record, verify it with the agency that issued it.
BlockLot is not affiliated with or endorsed by the City of New York, New York State, the United States government, any government agency, or any business listed.

Licences
NYC Open Data Law
NYC Administrative Code § 23-502(d): public data sets are made available “without any registration requirement, license requirement or restrictions on their use”. The City may ask a re-publisher to identify the source, version and any modifications, which this page does. § 23-504: the City gives no warranty of completeness, accuracy, content or fitness for any particular purpose.

Public reference page on nyc.gov
Published on nyc.gov as a reference page rather than as an Open Data set, and read under the NYC.gov Terms of Use. We identify ourselves when we read it.

Public records, collected before 2026
Contact details from public DOB permit records, gathered by BlockLot's predecessor system from DOB's Building Information System. That collection cannot be repeated, so it is kept exactly as imported and never refreshed.
DCP BYTES of the BIG APPLE download — no licence required
Downloaded free from the Department of City Planning, with no registration, licence or click-through. DCP provides it “for informational purposes only” and gives no warranty of its completeness, accuracy, content or fitness for any particular purpose. The address data inside it (PAD) is an NYC Open Data set. Geosupport and PAD are the City's marks, named here only to identify the source.
